Blue & Gold Macaw
Birds are fascinating photopraphy subjects whether they’re shot in the wild or in captivity.
I’ve kept a Catalina macaw and a Blue & Gold macaw as pets and worked with a group of rescued B&G’s, designing and rebuilding a year-around outdoor aviary for them. As pets, they’re loud, they’re messy, and for the inexperienced, their size and spiceiness can make them scary. In reality, they’re mostly bluster and despite their large beaks, on the parrot bite scale, they aren’t bad. You can get a much more painful bite from smaller birds.
