Photographing Pelicans

Where I live, on the Gulf of Mexico’s Florida coast, pelicans are ubiquitous. They’re as common a sight here as a squirrel is to someone from the midwest, which I am, and which is why pelicans seem so exotic to me.

I had never spent time around pelicans before I relocated to Florida. Although I’ve lived here just shy of twenty years now, I still shoot them whenever and wherever I find them.
