If you've spent any time trying to simulate the look of monochrome (aka black-and-white) photography, the first thing you realize is that it's not a simple matter of taking a color image and desaturating it. There's a lot more going on.
I built this interactive shot map as a tool to plot the locations of local wildlife I've photographed. Along with my shot calendar, these help me remember the what/when/where, without having to dig through my Lightroom libraries and EXIF data
On Florida's Gulf Coast, wildlife and weather can be very seasonal. Maintaining a calendar helps me remember and prepare for things like heavy spring fog or migrating birds.
Living near a very active Air Force base and weapons test range, we get a free air show every day. Here are a few taken during a walk in a local park.
American White Pelicans pass through Northwest Florida each year on their annual migration to points further south. Usually, by the time I hear about spottings, they're gone and I've missed them. These photos were taken downstate, on Sanibel Island.
