Curtiss P-40N Warhawk

Curtiss P-40N Warhawk

Manufacturer AMT/ERTL Scale 1:48 Kit VP0008 Completed 2010 Category Aircraft

Build Notes

This kit came out in 1995 and holds up well. It’s not as detailed as the Mauve kit but goes together nicely and the detail is decent. The markings are fictional and came from my spares box. The intent was to represent an aircraft operating from New Guinea in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. These kits show up regularly for $10-12 at model shows and I think they’re a good value, especially in the economic chaos of 2026. The model didn’t survive my last move and is in several pieces now. It’s worth repairing and when I do so, I’ll probably knock back the panel lines with a darker wash or the airbrush; They’re a bit too light for my taste.
